I'm running into more and more situations where I could really do with a decent tool for making nice graphic elements - mainly buttons, bars and indicators in a style that you'd expect to fit in on iPhone in particular. I'd like to be able to draw vector elements (lines, shapes, fancy masked aqua shiny gradients etc) and keep them around in layers, save them, rasterise them to many different output image sizes without losing the vector shapes from the save file etc. The tool would have to work on (intel) Mac. GIMP isn't meant for this, Omnigraffle (that I've found) isn't suited to it, last time I used Inkscape I found it to be relatively bug
